Candidate Pay Rate: $245 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality inpatient medical oncology care for adult patients, managing an average census of 12-15 hospital patients per day
- Oversee and supervise an advanced practice provider (NP), offering clinical guidance and mentorship
- Cover weekday clinical service Monday through Friday and provide outpatient coverage as needed for physician vacations
- Identify, enroll, and manage patients participating in clinical trials and research studies
- Participate in required call coverage to ensure continuity of care
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC
- Collaborate with hematology and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care
Qualifications
- MD or DO (Physician) required
- Board certified or board eligible in Medical Oncology or Hematology-Oncology preferred
- Eligible for or holding an active Virginia medical license (licensure assistance available)
- Experience in inpatient oncology care, comfortable managing daily hospital patient volumes
- Experience supervising and working alongside NPs or PAs
- Familiarity with clinical trials and willingness to enroll patients in research
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record
- Willingness to provide scheduled call coverage
Education
- MD or DO
- Completion of residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship training in Medical Oncology/Hematology-Oncology
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical knowledge in Medical Oncology and Hematology
- Experience with inpatient oncology workflows and some outpatient continuity care
- Understanding of clinical trial enrollment and research processes
- Skilled in EPIC documentation, order entry, and clinical communication
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to lead and mentor advanced practice providers
- Comfort managing adult patient populations with complex oncology needs
