Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Day)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $29 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care and support within the correctional training facility environment
Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with exams, and basic wound care
Document patient encounters and observations accurately in the charting system
Communicate clearly with custody staff and the clinical team to ensure safe patient movement and care
Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and staff
Participate in required orientation and ongoing training to maintain competency

Qualifications

Certified Medical Assistant (MA) required; Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) accepted if MA not available
Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain during orientation
Valid California certification/license as applicable
Comfortable working in a correctional facility setting and following facility-specific protocols
Ability to complete required facility orientation and clearance processes

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred or CNA training accepted

Knowledge & Skills

Strong patient care skills and attention to detail
Proficient with taking and recording vital signs
Clear, professional communication with patients, clinical staff, and custody personnel
Basic clinical documentation and charting skills
Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
