Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ mobility, strength, balance, and functional needs to create individualized care plans
• Develop and implement therapeutic interventions to improve independence and quality of life
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy assistants, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Document progress, modify treatment plans, and communicate outcomes with the care team and families
• Provide skilled, compassionate care while managing caseloads across Starkville Manor and designated float locations
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, fall prevention, and safe mobility strategies

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapist license (state of Mississippi license or eligible for licensure)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or post-acute rehab settings preferred
• Strong clinical reasoning, patient assessment, and documentation skills
• Ability to float between Starkville Manor and nearby sites as scheduled

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master’s in Physical Therapy, or equivalent degree

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment, therapeutic exercise, gait training, and transfers
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and timely documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with patients, families, and staff
• Knowledge of safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements in long-term care
• Ability to prioritize caseload and adapt treatment plans across multiple sites
