Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, safe nursing care during overnight coverage, prioritizing patient safety and comfort
• Perform focused patient assessments, identify changes in condition, and escalate concerns promptly
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and ensure continuity
• Maintain clear, timely charting in the electronic medical record and support handoffs at shift change
• Use therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques to support patients and families
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by modeling professionalism and teamwork

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in California or eligibility to obtain one
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Comfortable working per-diem night shifts and managing acutely changing situations
• Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills
• Ability to work independently overnight and escalate as needed
• Positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a team-first mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
• Completion of state RN licensure requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of nursing fundamentals, patient assessment, and clinical documentation
• Medication administration and safe IV/IM technique
• Experience using electronic medical records and accurate charting practices
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and respond calmly in fast-paced situations
• Effective interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with therapeutic communication and de-escalation strategies
