Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in the Family Birthing Center and LDRP unit, including active management during labor and delivery
• Perform neonatal resuscitation (NRP) at deliveries and stabilize newborns for transfer to higher-level care when required
• Monitor fetal and maternal status using advanced fetal monitoring and Fetalink EFM system, and act decisively on changes
• Titrate IV drips such as pitocin and insulin safely and according to orders
• Circulate in the OR for C-sections when required and collaborate with anesthesia and OB teams
• Coordinate care for mother/baby couplets, manage postpartum needs, and ensure smooth NICU transfers when indicated
• Serve as a professional team member during charge/shift management interactions and support unit staffing needs

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to submit for CA positions)
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
• Minimum 2 years RN experience (job posting lists 2 years); must have at least 1 year of LDRP experience for placement
• Preference for 3 years LDRP experience and charge nurse or shift manager experience
• OR circulating experience required for L&D-only candidates (postpartum-only background not accepted)
• Comfortable performing NRP without in-house pediatric coverage and responding to on-call/standby within 30 minutes

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN not required (BSN Required: No as listed); standard nursing education (ADN/BSN) acceptable

Knowledge & Skills

• Labor & Delivery workflows, mother/baby couplet care, and AWHONN guidelines for safe staffing and monitoring
• Hands-on experience with Cerner charting and documentation
• Proficiency with Fetalink EFM system and GE fetal monitoring nuances
• Neonatal stabilization and safe transfer procedures to NICU or higher-level care
• IV drip titration competence, including pitocin management and occasional insulin adjustments
• Familiarity with epidural/anesthesia coordination and responding to anesthesia on-call scenarios
• Ability to work with respiratory support equipment and collaborate with RT (ventilator, CPAP, bubble CPAP)
