Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients, including trauma, cardiac, respiratory distress, sepsis, stroke, and renal failure
• Safely titrate and manage cardiac drips, insulin, and sedatives following unit protocols
• Interpret and document monitor strips and telemetry data using GE monitoring systems
• Troubleshoot respiratory equipment from nasal cannula through mechanical ventilation and collaborate with RTs as needed
• Document care accurately in EPIC and communicate changes in patient status to the multidisciplinary team
• Float to PCU or MedSurg as needed, maintaining appropriate patient ratios and standards of care
• Participate in orientation activities and pass required competency assessments to ensure safe practice

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure required (license to submit is required)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU or acute critical care experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Proven ability to titrate drips and manage cardiac/critical care medications
• Experience with telemetry and GE monitors, including strip interpretation
• Ability to troubleshoot vents and work with respiratory therapy for advanced support
• Valid driver's license required at submittal
• Willingness to comply with facility policies (for example, fingernail/artificial nails prohibition) and pass orientation skills exam (90% passing threshold)

Education

• BSN not required (no BSN requirement specified); active RN licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing and acute care fundamentals
• Cardiac drip titration and hemodynamic monitoring
• Telemetry monitoring and monitor strip interpretation (GE systems)
• Vent support and troubleshooting from nasal cannula to ventilator
• Trauma, stroke, sepsis, renal failure, pacemaker/post-stent care
• Experience charting in EPIC and strong interdisciplinary communication
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and manage 1:2-1:3 nurse:patient ratios
