Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to labor and delivery, postpartum, and mother-baby patients in a rural LDRP setting
• Triage and assess patients presenting for labor and delivery, ensuring timely and appropriate care
• Function as the baby catcher and transition nurse, supporting newborns immediately after delivery
• Monitor and titrate Pitocin drips as needed, following AWHONN guidelines for maternal-fetal monitoring
• Collaborate with a small, close-knit team to manage births, postpartum recovery, and gynecological surgical patients
• Maintain accurate EFM tracings using OBIX system and respond to changes in fetal status

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of L&D experience with training in LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
• Ability to triage and function independently as a baby catcher/transition nurse
• Current certifications: BLS/ALS, NRP, and AWHONN EFM
• Experience with Pitocin titration and electronic fetal monitoring
• Comfortable working in a rural hospital with limited resources and on-call OB/anesthesia support

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong skills in labor and delivery, postpartum care, and mother-baby nursing
• Proficient in triage and emergency response for obstetric patients
• Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios and EFM interpretation
• Ability to work collaboratively as a charge nurse with a patient assignment
• Familiarity with OBIX EFM system and common titratable drips (Pitocin)
