Location: San Luis Obispo, California

Start Date: 06-13-2026

End Date: 09-12-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $84 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to labor and delivery and postpartum patients
Circulate during cesarean sections and assist with high-risk deliveries
Monitor fetal heart tracings using FetalLink system
Float between L&D and postpartum units as needed
Support patient birth plans and collaborate with healthcare team
Work with OB tech and charge nurse to ensure smooth unit operations

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent L&D/PP experience (no first-time travelers)
Active California RN license or compact license
Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN
Previous travel experience preferred
Ability to circulate for C-sections and manage high-risk patients

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in fetal monitoring and interpretation
Proficient in Cerner EMR and FetalLink system
Strong skills in labor support, postpartum care, and C-section circulation
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Knowledge of AWHONN staffing guidelines
