Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population, including trauma, burns, and medical emergencies
• Manage acute and subacute care in a high-volume Level 1 Trauma Center with 36 acute beds and 54 subacute beds
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, midlevels, and techs to deliver fast-paced, life-saving care
• Float between multiple facilities within the system (St. Joseph's Main, Westgate, and free-standing ERs) as needed
• Maintain telemetry monitoring and interpret cardiac strips using Phillips monitors
• Participate in SIMs lab training for Foley catheter insertion and port-a-cath dressing changes to ensure competency

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• At least 6 months of Level 1 Trauma experience mandatory
• Active RN license in Arizona or compact state (NLC) - DL is source of truth
• Must pass DYS exam prior to accepting assignment (2 attempts, then DNU for 6 months)
• Own vehicle required for travel between facilities
• No facial piercings, natural hair color; men must be clean-shaven for fit test

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in Cerner EMR
• Strong telemetry and cardiac strip interpretation skills
• Expertise in trauma, burn, and emergency care
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to adapt quickly to floating and varied patient loads
