Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide empathetic, high-quality care to laboring patients and new families
• Attend low-risk deliveries independently and assist with cesarean sections
• Monitor and titrate critical drips such as magnesium, Pitocin, and insulin
• Care for mother-baby couplets in the postpartum unit
• Assist with neonatal resuscitation and transition of the newborn
• Collaborate with OB hospitalists, neonatologists, and anesthesia providers
• Educate patients on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery
• Function as a circulating nurse during surgical procedures

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Washington State (or compact license)
• Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience (1 year with multiple travel assignments considered)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (preferred)
• Proven LDRP experience including independent delivery and c-section circulating
• Comfortable attending deliveries and assisting with newborn care
• Willingness to adapt to unit workflows, policies, and feedback

Knowledge & Skills

• L&D nursing including mother-baby and postpartum care
• C-section circulating and operating room protocols
• Neonatal resuscitation and newborn transition
• Drip titration for magnesium, Pitocin, and insulin
• High-risk conditions: preeclampsia, diabetes, substance use, psychosocial issues
• EPIC documentation system
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
