Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy to adult patients and occasional pediatric emergencies in the ED
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and analyze results for accurate care
• Set up and manage ventilators, bipap, and high-flow oxygen devices
• Administer nebulizer treatments to improve breathing
• Assist with conscious sedation and cardioversion standby procedures
• Support intubation as needed for critical airways
• Care for neonates in level 2 nursery, including bubble CPAP for infants 32 weeks and up

Qualifications

• Active Washington State Respiratory Therapist license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• RRT or CRT credential accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent NICU experience with level 2 nursery proficiency
• Strong ventilator management skills and bipap setup experience
• Comfortable drawing ABGs and assisting with conscious sedation

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in ventilator management (PB 980, Philips V60, Respironics Lumis)
• Skilled in ABG draw and interpretation for timely adjustments
• Knowledge of bipap and high-flow oxygen setup and troubleshooting
• Competent in administering nebulizer treatments and respiratory medications
• Familiarity with conscious sedation and cardioversion standby protocols
• Experience assisting with intubation in emergency settings
• Understanding of neonatal respiratory care for 32+ week infants using bubble CPAP
