Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM), including weekend rotation (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule) and holiday rotation as needed

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms for acute medical-surgical and cardiac patients
Titrate drips including heparin, insulin, and maintenance IV medications as ordered
Collaborate with charge nurse and interdisciplinary team to manage high-flow admissions, transfers, and discharges
Provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced PCU setting
Float to other units like Med/Surg or ICU/ED based on patient needs and competencies

Qualifications

Active and unrestricted RN license in Nebraska (compact license accepted)
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (required at submission)
Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or stepdown experience preferred
Ability to pass a pass/fail open-book exam during orientation (90% required)
Driver's license required for radius rule verification (must live 50+ miles from facility)

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in telemetry interpretation and rhythm recognition
Skilled in titrating cardiac and critical care drips
Strong teamwork and communication skills in a high-volume environment
Comfortable with floating to various units as needed
