Physical Therapist - Acute Inpatient
Location: Bakersfield, California
Start Date: 06-15-2026
End Date: 09-14-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM; one weekend every third weekend (Monday and Friday off that weekend)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments for acute inpatients
- Manage a caseload of approximately 12 patients per day with diverse diagnoses
- Cover Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER units as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
- Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
Qualifications
- Active California Physical Therapy license required
- Current BLS certification
- Acute inpatient physical therapy experience required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge & Skills
- Experience with post-surgical orthopedic patients (TKA, THA, spinal surgery)
- Competence in treating general medical/deconditioned patients
- Knowledge of acute care protocols and discharge planning
- Strong communication and documentation skills
