Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to neuro telemetry patients including post-surgical, craniotomy, spine, and CVA post-TPA cases
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, identifying and responding to arrhythmias promptly
• Collaborate with charge nurse and clinical supervisor to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and facility protocols
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and communicate effectively with the healthcare team
• Educate patients and families on neuro conditions and recovery plans

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in a neuro or telemetry setting (within the past 6 months)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam via RELIAS within 48 hours of offer (2 attempts max)
• Must pass a sterile technique exam on day 1 of orientation
• COVID vaccine or approved medical/religious declination required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong EKG interpretation skills and knowledge of cardiac rhythms
• Understanding of neuro patient care including ICP monitoring (not required) and stroke management
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced 28-bed unit with a 1:3-4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in sterile technique and infection control practices
