Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage the cost accounting system and publish monthly service line and physician practice P&Ls and scorecards to drive transparency and decision making
• Lead use of the Decision Support system to support major strategic and financial planning projects and initiatives
• Develop STRATA-based financial feasibility, cost and reimbursement templates and calculate ROI, payback period, NPV and IRR for capital project evaluation
• Oversee reporting to external rating agencies (S&P, Fitch, DAC, EMMA) and produce required materials for audits and renewals
• Validate and maintain cost structure accuracy and work with leadership to develop performance improvement plans for service lines with unfavorable variances
• Train managers and directors to interpret productivity software, manage ad hoc reporting requests, and produce reports for audits, cost report filing and community benefit reporting
• Mentor and develop the supervisor of decision support and special projects analyst to build a strong, resilient team
• Provide oversight and support for software implementations, including ERP and leasing software components, and assist with STRATA rolling forecast implementation

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (required)
• Minimum 10 years experience in cost accounting, budgeting and/or decision support, with demonstrable healthcare experience
• Hands-on experience with STRATA financial software or a similar decision support/forecasting tool
• Proven experience preparing P&Ls, service line profitability analysis, and reporting to external agencies
• Preferred: Master Degree in Business Administration or Health Administration
• Preferred certifications: financial and/or healthcare-related certifications are a plus
• Experience with hospital contracting, reimbursement, bundled payments and physician reimbursement preferred
• Proven ability to mentor staff and lead cross-functional financial projects

Education

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (required)
• Master Degree in Business Administration or Health Administration (preferred)
