Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC; schedule set in 6-week blocks (leadership posts schedule), includes 6-9 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule, may include holiday rotation; must be available to float within Zone 3 (60-mile radius).

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality telemetry nursing care for adult and geriatric patients across multiple specialties
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry continuously and respond to changes in patient status
- Administer and titrate medications (including heparin drips) per protocol and physician orders
- Float confidently between units (MS-Tele, PCU/Stepdown, ICU, Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Orthopedics, Renal and more)
- Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to ensure seamless handoffs and continuity of care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — RTs, aides, charge nurses and physicians — to optimize patient outcomes
- Support unit staffing needs and fill gaps in permanent schedules, demonstrating flexibility and professionalism
- Participate in unit orientation as both learner and potential resource to onboard colleagues
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license (able to submit) — must meet licensure requirements for assignment
- Minimum 2 years of MS-Telemetry nursing experience (required)
- Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications
- NIHSS certification (required)
- Experience with EPIC charting (required)
- Comfort and experience titrating heparin drips
- Ability and willingness to float across a 60-mile zone and secure housing that supports that requirement
- Preferred: prior neuro experience and float pool/PCU/stepdown exposure
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma accepted; BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Strong medication titration skills and familiarity with drip management
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record documentation
- Skilled in adult-geriatric patient care across varied diagnoses (cardiac, neuro, oncology, ortho, renal, etc.)
- Ability to work independently on night shift and handle prioritized assignments
- Comfort working with respiratory equipment (vent/CPAP/BiPAP) and collaborating with RTs
- Charge/performance awareness: understanding of charge nurse role and patient assignment flow
