Roles & Responsibilities

• Process, decontaminate, inspect, and assemble surgical instruments and trays with precision
• Operate sterilization equipment and validate sterilization cycles to ensure patient safety
• Maintain accurate instrument tracking and documentation for case readiness
• Collaborate with surgical teams and perioperative staff to ensure instruments are available on time
• Follow infection prevention and sterile processing protocols to the letter
• Identify and report instrument defects and participate in quality improvement efforts
• Keep work areas organized, stocked, and compliant with safety standards

Qualifications

• Certified Sterile Processing Technician required prior to start of contract
• Ability to work rotating 8-hour shifts and consecutive weekends as needed
• Comfortable with a 40-hour per week schedule and the pace of a surgical environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to infection control practices
• Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• Certification as a Certified Sterile Processing Technician (required)
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on knowledge of instrument decontamination and sterilization processes
• Familiarity with sterilization equipment operation and cycle monitoring
• Experience with instrument assembly, inspection, and tray preparation
• Understanding of sterile processing documentation and instrument tracking systems
• Ability to follow strict protocols and maintain high standards of cleanliness
• Efficient time management and the ability to prioritize under busy conditions
