Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the physical therapist in delivering direct patient care and therapeutic programs
• Help patients with therapeutic exercise, stretching, balance training, and transfers
• Collect treatment data and report patient responses to the PT to guide plan adjustments
• Teach patients and families practical home exercise techniques and fall-prevention strategies
• Maintain a clean, organized therapy area and ensure equipment is ready for use
• Complete documentation, scheduling, and other administrative tasks accurately and timely
• Communicate compassionately with patients and families to support rehabilitation goals

Qualifications

• Active PTA license (Missouri or compact) required
• Minimum 1 year of PTA experience — required
• BLS (AHA) certification required and must be active at time of start
• CPR certification (AHA) required
• Long-Term Care (LTC) or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) experience required
• Certifications must be through AHA and active at time of start
• Submission-ready resume and skills checklist; 0-1 reference acceptable at submission

• Assisting physical therapist with treatment implementation
• Patient transfers and safe mobility techniques
• Therapeutic exercise and stretching program delivery
• Balance training and fall-prevention strategies
• Home exercise instruction and caregiver education
• Patient assessment support, data collection, and documentation
• Scheduling, filing, and general administrative tasks
• Maintaining therapy area organization and equipment readiness
