Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate and scrub for urgent, emergent and STAT C-sections, ensuring sterile technique and patient safety
• Provide patient-centered perioperative nursing care from assessment through evaluation in collaboration with families
• Perform thorough patient assessments, develop care plans, implement interventions and evaluate outcomes per ANA standards
• Document care accurately and promptly in EPIC to support continuity and clinical communication
• Collaborate with surgical team members, anesthesia and support staff to maintain efficient OR flow
• Participate in required competency testing and maintain specialty-specific certifications

Qualifications

• Active Rhode Island RN license (required)
• Demonstrated experience circulating and scrubbing for C-sections (required)
• Perioperative/OR or LDR nursing experience, including urgent and emergent cases
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record (required)
• BLS and current CPR certification (required); specialty-specific certifications as required
• English proficiency sufficient for patient care and documentation
• Ability to pass CNE skills checklist and related competency exams

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing fundamentals and sterile technique
• Skilled in circulating and scrubbing roles for obstetric surgical procedures
• Patient assessment, care planning, intervention and evaluation
• Proficient documentation and charting in EPIC
• Strong teamwork, communication and crisis resource management
• Familiarity with perioperative safety protocols and infection control
