Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and quickly recognize and respond to arrhythmias
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following policy and best practice
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Perform thorough assessments and maintain accurate documentation in the patient record
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans to promote recovery
• Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Iowa (license verification required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications as listed in the job requirements
• Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing and telemetry monitoring
• Willingness to complete facility onboarding requirements: fit test, drug screen, immunizations, and health screenings

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and interpretation skills
• Excellent medical-surgical assessment and clinical decision-making
• IV medication administration and acute care nursing skills
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate charting
• Clear communication, teamwork, and patient education abilities
• Ability to follow specialty competency testing and facility protocols
