Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and stabilize patients presenting to the Emergency Department with urgency and clinical confidence
• Perform IV insertion and start/maintain infusions safely and efficiently
• Monitor and interpret EKGs and respond to cardiac events including cardioversion
• Manage ventilated patients and use unit equipment such as vents and tele-neuro systems
• Assist with procedures commonly performed on the unit including lumbar puncture, central line care, in/out Foley placement, and moderate sedation support
• Document patient care accurately in EMR Level 3 and maintain clear communication with the interdisciplinary team
• Deliver compassionate patient and family education while prioritizing patient safety and comfort
• Contribute as a team player to maintain a positive, energetic, and learning-focused unit culture

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (Emergency Nursing experience preferred)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS or ENPC, TNCC (candidates without these will not be considered)
• Preferred certifications: STABLE and NRP
• Demonstrated competency with IV insertion, EKG monitoring, and EMR documentation (EMR Level 3 specified)
• Ability to work nights and meet schedule requirement of 4 weekend days

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency nursing knowledge and ability to triage effectively in a fast-paced ED
• Proficiency with IV starts, EKG interpretation, and cardiac event response
• Experience caring for ventilated patients and familiarity with tele-neuro monitoring
• Comfort assisting with procedures such as lumbar punctures, central lines, and moderate sedation
• Ability to maintain patient ratios and prioritize care in a 4:1 setting
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and adaptability in dynamic clinical situations
