Roles & Responsibilities

• Attend high-risk deliveries and provide expert neonatal respiratory support at critical moments
• Manage ventilators including conventional and high-frequency oscillatory ventilation with confidence
• Administer surfactant and manage airway interventions for fragile neonatal patients
• Obtain and interpret blood gases to guide ventilator and respiratory care decisions
• Administer and monitor inhaled nitric oxide therapy as indicated
• Document care accurately in Meditech and NeoNotes and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team
• Troubleshoot and maintain neonatal respiratory equipment including Drager VN500, 3100A oscillators, Vapotherm and nitric oxide systems

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience (posting notes 1 year); Level 3 NICU experience preferred
• Candidates with 3-5 years of Level 2 NICU experience will be considered
• STABLE certification preferred
• Experience with neonatal ventilators (Drager VN500, 3100A oscillators), Mallinckrodt Nitric Oxide and Vapotherm preferred
• Comfortable using Meditech and NeoNotes for charting

Knowledge & Skills

• Neonatal ventilator management and high-frequency oscillatory ventilation
• Neonatal resuscitation and attending high-risk deliveries
• Surfactant administration and airway management in neonates
• Blood gas acquisition and interpretation to guide clinical care
• Familiarity with neonatal nitric oxide therapy
• Competence with neonatal respiratory devices and EMR systems (Meditech, NeoNotes)
• Strong critical thinking, independence, attention to detail, and a positive attitude
