Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU, managing complex cases with confidence
• Manage ventilators and respiratory support, ensuring safe, evidence-based respiratory care
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring and respond to changes in patient status with timely interventions
• Initiate IVs, manage central line dressing changes, and care for invasive lines with strict aseptic technique
• Deliver tracheostomy care and tube feeding placement, maintaining patient comfort and safety
• Monitor intracranial pressure (ICP) and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on neurocritical care plans
• Document accurately and efficiently in Cerner and maintain safe medication administration using Alaris pumps
• Communicate clearly with families and the care team to coordinate patient-centered plans

Qualifications

• Current, active RN licensure (must be verifiable)
• PALS certification required
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience (Experience: 2 listed) with at least 1 year of PICU experience (unit-specific requirement)
• Demonstrated competency in ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, central line care, trach management, tube feedings and ICP monitoring
• Familiarity with Cerner documentation and Alaris infusion pumps
• Comfort floating to Pediatrics and NICU and working required weekend rotations

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric critical care principles and bedside PICU decision-making
• Ventilator management and respiratory support strategies
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of advanced monitors
• Central line and IV therapy skills including sterile dressing changes and IV starts
• Tracheostomy care and tube feeding placement
• ICP monitoring and neurocritical care familiarity
• Proficient documentation in Cerner and safe medication delivery with Alaris pumps
• Strong communication, teamwork and family-centered care approach
