Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert respiratory care, treatment and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies including asthma, pneumonia and COPD
• Operate and manage respiratory equipment such as oxygen cylinders, concentrators, nebulizers, suction machines, CPAP and BIPAP devices
• Perform patient assessments and deliver individualized treatment plans with compassion and clinical precision
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Respond promptly to emergencies and code situations, delivering critical airway and ventilatory support as needed
• Document all assessments, interventions and patient responses accurately in Meditech EMR

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications — absolute must-haves for consideration
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
• Experience with CPAP/BIPAP and general respiratory equipment
• Strong teamwork, critical thinking and patient-centered communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on familiarity with Meditech electronic medical record
• Proficient in ventilator management and respiratory modalities
• Skilled with oxygen delivery systems, nebulizers and suction equipment
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-acuity environments with varying patient ratios
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and maintain excellent documentation
