Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage emergency department patients rapidly and accurately
• Provide direct nursing care to patients with acute and urgent needs
• Collaborate with the ED team to prioritize care and escalate concerns
• Perform ongoing patient monitoring and document changes in condition
• Administer treatments and interventions according to protocol and provider orders
• Participate in competency exams and skill checks to maintain clinical readiness
• Adhere to infection control, fit testing, and other safety procedures

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (Kansas or compact RN as applicable)
• Experience or comfort working in an Emergency Department, night shift experience preferred
• Completion of DCI/BVP credentialing as listed in the engagement details
• Successful completion of Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam
• Completion of Glucose Training Policy requirements
• Up-to-date immunizations and screenings: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, TB testing/PPD, Varicella, Tdap
• Negative drug screen (minimum 10-panel) and current fit test
• Ability to pass the Prime color-blind test and provide required physical/health statements

• Effective communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary staff
• Comfort with competency testing and ongoing skills validation
