Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality telemetry nursing care to acute patients on a medical-surgical telemetry unit
• Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and respond promptly to changes in patient status
• Perform comprehensive assessments and implement individualized nursing interventions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update patient care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following ACLS/BLS/TNCC guidance when needed
• Document care accurately in the patient record and ensure continuity at shift change
• Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist to maintain standards
• Support patient and family education to promote recovery and reduce readmissions

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (license verification required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required as listed
• Demonstrated competency or experience in medical-surgical telemetry and acute patient care
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Ability to complete required health screenings (Fit Test, drug screen, immunizations, TB testing, etc.)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm recognition
• Acute patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Medical-surgical nursing practices and protocols
• Familiarity with EMR documentation and accurate charting
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to respond to emergencies and use ACLS/BLS algorithms
