Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care and assessment for ICU and floor patients, making a direct impact on recovery
• Manage and troubleshoot ventilators, BIPAP/CPAP, and oxygen therapy settings with confidence
• Obtain and analyze arterial blood gases to guide clinical interventions
• Perform nebulizer therapies and other respiratory procedures safely and efficiently
• Document care accurately in Meditech and communicate clear handoffs to the care team
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment
• Provide patient and family education on respiratory care plans and device use

Qualifications

• Current RRT credential (required)
• Current Virginia state license (required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience (experience field shows 2)
• ICU experience is a must-have for this unit
• Comfortable with ventilators, BIPAP/CPAP, nebulizers and arterial blood gas procedures
• Experience with Meditech or similar EMR is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced ventilator management and troubleshooting
• BIPAP/CPAP setup and titration
• Arterial blood gas interpretation and sampling
• Nebulizer therapy and aerosol treatment administration
• Oxygen therapy delivery and monitoring
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR documentation
• Comfort working in a fast-paced ICU environment and handling high patient treatment volumes
