Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry continuously and promptly intervene to keep patients safe
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate changes to the care team
• Provide expert med-surg and neuroscience nursing care on a 36-bed unit
• Start IVs and perform Foley insertions with competence and compassion
• Document patient care and clinical decisions accurately in Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, effective care
• Maintain patient ratios and provide high-quality care during stretch situations

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) credential
• Required certifications: ACLS and NIH
• Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience (telemetry/med-surg experience preferred)
• Comfortable working in a neuroscience/med-surg environment and able to handle telemetry monitoring
• Strong clinical assessment skills and experience with IV starts and Foley insertions
• Experience with Cerner EMR is highly desirable

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Med-Surg nursing best practices
• Neurosciences clinical exposure (preferred)
• Electronic charting in Cerner
• Patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Procedural skills: IV starts and Foley insertion
• ACLS and NIH stroke scale proficiency
