Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care to adult, pediatric and NICU patients as assigned
• Manage and operate ventilators and non-invasive devices including GE R860, Draeger Infant/Peds vents, Newport HT70 and V60
• Initiate, monitor and adjust respiratory therapy treatments such as high-flow oxygen (Vapotherm, Comfort Flow)
• Document care accurately in the EMR (Cerner) and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
• Perform routine and emergency procedures in critical care areas, maintaining patient safety at all times
• Float across critical care units and floors as needed to meet patient care demands

Qualifications

• North Carolina Respiratory License (required)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - required
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required
• NRP preferred (nice-to-have)
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience (as listed)
• Comfortable working across adult critical care and NICU/Peds service lines

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with mechanical ventilators including GE R860 and Draeger pediatric/infant models
• Experience with transport ventilators (Newport HT70) and non-invasive devices (V60)
• Knowledge of high-flow oxygen systems such as Vapotherm and Comfort Flow
• Cerner EMR documentation experience
• Strong critical thinking and ability to function in busy critical care environments
• Effective communication and teamwork skills across multidisciplinary teams
