Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care for a diverse patient population including trauma, stroke, sepsis and complex cardiac patients
• Rapidly assess, triage and prioritize patients; initiate protocol-based orders and complete workups (labs, EKGs, imaging) as appropriate
• Perform advanced procedures such as ultrasound-guided IV insertion and IO placement when indicated
• Respond to and manage trauma and stroke activations in a fast-paced ED environment
• Operate and monitor equipment including Alaris infusion pumps, Pyxis medication systems, Lucas Device and Hotline Rapid Infuser
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Sunrise/Allscripts EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, ED techs, RP staff and ancillary teams to deliver seamless patient care
• Maintain patient safety and comfort while adapting to fluctuating census and surge situations

Qualifications

• Active RN license (appropriate state licensure required)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required for contract roles
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC required for contract labor (preferred for other hires)
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
• Dependable, punctual, and able to thrive in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Experience with EMR systems (Sunrise/Allscripts) and familiarity with Alaris pumps and Pyxis preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency and trauma nursing best practices
• Stroke care protocols and rapid stroke assessment
• Ultrasound-guided IV insertion and IO techniques
• EKG acquisition and interpretation fundamentals
• Experience using Sunrise/Allscripts EMR
• Familiarity with Alaris pumps, Pyxis medication systems, Lucas Device and Hotline Rapid Infuser
• Strong medical terminology knowledge and documentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients with a 4:1 typical ratio
