Shift Type: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour nights). Rotating/night schedule that includes at least 4 weekends per schedule period; primarily nights (NOC) with weekend coverage requirement.

Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity critical care nursing for adult ICU patients, maintaining a safe 2:1 patient ratio
• Perform advanced procedures such as intubation, central line and arterial line placement with competency and confidence
• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care for complex neuro and oncology cases, including EVD patient management
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient plans
• Document accurately in the EMR (Meditech) to ensure continuity of care and clear communication
• Serve as a reliable night-shift team member, supporting charge nurses and participating in unit-based quality initiatives
• Teach, mentor and support unit staff and float nurses to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

• Current RN license valid for practice in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of ICU/critical care nursing experience (must-have)
• Current ACLS certification (required)
• Demonstrated competency with intubation, central line and arterial/arterial line placement
• Comfortable with EVD care and complex neuro/oncology patients (preferred experience)
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR preferred
• Team-player attitude, accountability, and strong communication skills

Education

• Active RN license in Texas (education per state licensure requirements)

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing fundamentals and advanced monitoring
• Airway management and mechanical ventilation basics (intubation experience required)
• Central and arterial line insertion care and troubleshooting
• EVD patient care and neuro-critical monitoring
• Meditech EMR navigation and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to work independently on night shift and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
