Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care on a med-tele telemetry unit, supporting patients with cardiac, pulmonary, post-surgical, and complex medical needs
• Perform accurate vital sign assessments and report changes promptly to the nursing team
• Safely remove peripheral IVs and urinary Foley catheters as part of routine patient care
• Assist with activities of daily living, mobility, and basic nursing treatments to promote patient comfort and recovery
• Document care clearly and promptly in the charting system, supporting continuity and quality of care
• Float confidently between facilities in Region Two when needed, adapting to unit workflows and patient populations
• Collaborate with RNs, charge nurses, and house supervisors to maintain safe staffing ratios and excellent patient outcomes
• Participate in unit orientation and ongoing learning to maintain med-tele competency

Qualifications

• Valid CNA certification required and license to submit
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in med-tele or acute care preferred
• Comfortable working night shifts and every-other-weekend rotation
• Experience with vital signs, med-tele level of care, PIV removal, and Foley removal
• COVID-19 vaccination required per facility policy
• Willingness to float across multiple hospitals within the region

Education

• CNA certification (required)
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and recognition of cardiac rhythms
• Strong vital sign assessment and clinical observation skills
• Experience with acute care patient populations including cardiac, COPD, post-surgical, dialysis, ortho, neuro, and infectious disease
• Proficient in safe PIV and Foley removal techniques
• Familiarity with EPIC or similar electronic charting systems
• Ability to prioritize, communicate effectively, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols
