Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside care and assist patients with activities of daily living
- Take and document vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
- Assist with safe patient transfers, positioning, and mobility
- Support nursing staff by following care plans and communicating patient needs
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices
- Observe patients for changes in condition and escalate concerns to the RN
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required)
- Prior experience in long-term care, acute care, or similar settings preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to work overnight shifts and handle physical demands of patient care
- Reliable, compassionate, and team-oriented with strong communication skills
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in patient hygiene, feeding, and ADL assistance
- Skilled in taking and recording vital signs and observing patient status
- Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
- Good documentation habits and basic comfort with electronic charting
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff
