Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to students with professionalism and empathy
• Perform assessments and document clinical findings accurately and promptly
• Administer medications and treatments according to standing orders and care plans
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care
• Respond to health emergencies calmly and follow established protocols
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure confidentiality at all times
• Educate students and caregivers on health, wellness, and prevention strategies
• Support public health initiatives such as immunization clinics and screenings

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license — ability to practice in California required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Pediatric certification preferred when applicable
• Comfort working with school-aged children and performing pediatric assessments
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with educators and families

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric assessment and medication administration skills
• Familiarity with school health protocols and Individualized Health Plans
• Proficiency with documentation and electronic health records
• Excellent interpersonal skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Triage and emergency response capabilities in a school setting
