Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside care and assist patients with activities of daily living
- Take and record vital signs, observing and reporting changes promptly
- Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and fall prevention measures
- Support bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting with dignity and respect
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and communicate effectively with the care team
- Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to ensure patient safety
- Help create a comforting environment for patients and their families
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Current basic life support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable with overnight/night shift responsibilities
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Previous experience in a clinical or long-term care setting is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient care fundamentals and hands-on assistance
- Vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Infection prevention and control practices
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
