Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care including emergent, intensive and routine treatments
• Perform diagnostic respiratory procedures and interpret results to support clinical decisions
• Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory equipment for critically ill patients
• Respond promptly to codes and respiratory emergencies with calm, competent interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and allied health staff to create and implement care plans
• Document assessments, treatments and patient progress accurately and timely
• Provide patient and family education on therapies, equipment use and discharge plans
• Participate in quality improvement, infection control and safety initiatives to improve outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (required)
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license from any U.S. state, Puerto Rico or U.S. territory
• Current AHA certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP (must be maintained)
• Minimum two (2) years of respiratory care experience in a general/acute hospital setting
• Ability to work rotating day/night shifts, weekends, holidays and be available for on-call duties
• Fingerprint clearance must be submitted and cleared prior to start
• Strong teamwork, communication skills and cultural sensitivity to serve a diverse patient population

Education

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or Certificate of Completion in Respiratory Care (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and weaning protocols
• Airway management, oxygen therapy and aerosolized medication delivery
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and interpretation
• Cardiopulmonary monitoring and emergency respiratory interventions
• Proficiency with diagnostic respiratory procedures and equipment troubleshooting
• Infection control practices and patient safety principles
• Cultural competence serving Navajo, Hopi and other regional communities
• Clear communication and patient education skills
