Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, standards-based nursing care to students and staff
• Perform timely triage and assessment for acute and chronic conditions
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to orders and protocols
• Document clinical findings and interventions accurately in the health record
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to support student health
• Educate students and families on health, prevention, and wellness topics
• Participate in emergency response and follow school emergency protocols
• Support immunization tracking, screenings, and health plan development

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (California RN license required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Pediatric certification a plus
• Comfortable with school-based nursing duties and working with children and adolescents
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in school settings
• Willingness to complete background checks and health screenings as required
• Per-diem availability and flexibility to cover single-day assignments

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Student health assessment and triage
• Medication administration and documentation
• Familiarity with school health protocols and Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs)
• Electronic medical/health record documentation
• Clear, compassionate communication with children, families, and school teams
• Basic first aid and emergency response skills
