Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
- Support safe patient transfers and positioning following facility protocols
- Maintain clear, timely documentation of care and patient interactions
- Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team to support care plans
- Observe and report any changes in patient condition to the RN or supervisor
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (state-approved) required
- Valid CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
- Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts and performing physical aspects of patient care
- Previous nursing assistant experience in acute or long-term care settings is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- State-approved CNA training program completion and certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient hygiene, toileting assistance, and mobility support
- Proficient in taking and documenting vital signs and basic observations
- Knowledgeable about infection control and safe patient handling
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with patients and staff
- Organized with attention to detail for accurate charting and handoffs
