Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care and support daily needs
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes promptly
- Support safe patient transfers and assist with ambulation using proper techniques
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Communicate effectively with nurses and interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential (California certification preferred or eligible)
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working overnight 12-hour shifts and adapting to per-diem schedules
- Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to work well on a team
- Prior CNA experience in a clinical, long-term care, or acute setting is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in basic patient care tasks and ADL assistance
- Ability to accurately take and document vital signs
- Knowledge of infection prevention and safe patient handling
- Familiarity with basic charting or electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Strong observational skills and the ability to report clinical changes clearly
