Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform safe and skilled start/stop IV care and manage IV-related therapies
• Provide comprehensive wound care and monitor healing progress
• Continuously monitor telemetry and respond to cardiac changes
• Manage Foley care and prevent catheter-associated complications
• Administer medications accurately and lead daily medication distribution
• Mobilize patients for transfers, bathroom trips, dressing, and out-of-bed mobility to support rehabilitation goals
• Educate patients and families on medication reconciliation and discharge home care
• Document care clearly and efficiently in Meditech and collaborate with therapy and multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas (required)
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Comfortable and competent with start/stop IVs, wound care, telemetry, Foley care and standard med-surg nursing skills
• Prior inpatient rehab facility or skilled nursing unit experience preferred
• Energetic, outgoing, open to learning rehab-focused care and a good team player

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with Meditech EMR or similar electronic charting systems
• Strong telemetry interpretation and monitoring skills
• Wound assessment and basic wound care procedures
• Patient mobility and safe transfer techniques using rehab equipment
• Medication administration and reconciliation best practices
• Clear communication and patient/family education skills
