Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care for BMT/oncology ICU patients, managing complex, high-acuity needs
• Manage ventilators and BiPAP treatments to support respiratory stability
• Titrate drips and vasoactive medications safely and effectively
• Perform and manage CRRT and arterial line (A-line) monitoring when needed
• Deliver comprehensive total care including trach care, dressing changes, and turning
• Document care accurately in Meditech and communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary team
• Maintain patient ratios of 2:1 and collaborate closely with physicians to optimize outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Texas or compact) required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (strong critical care background required)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Hands-on experience with ventilator management, titrating drips, trach care, and A-line monitoring
• CRRT experience and transplant (kidney, pancreas, liver) experience are highly preferred
• Comfortable working nights and rotating weekends; dependable and team-oriented
• Professional, compassionate demeanor with strong communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep knowledge of critical care practices and oncology/BMT patient needs
• Skill with ventilator settings, BiPAP, and respiratory support strategies
• Proficiency with continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR for documentation and charting
• Ability to titrate vasoactive drips and manage hemodynamic monitoring
• Strong assessment, prioritization, and multitasking skills in high-acuity settings
• Collaborative mindset and ability to build rapport with physicians and staff
