Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert respiratory care and assessment for patients with respiratory insufficiency, asthma, pneumonia and related conditions
• Manage mechanical ventilation settings and weaning on devices such as Servo I, Hamilton, V60 and Astral ventilators
• Perform and interpret ABGs and adjust treatment plans accordingly
• Initiate and manage noninvasive support including CPAP and BiPAP therapy
• Deliver CPT and other airway clearance therapies as clinically indicated
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in unit initiatives, quality improvement and maintain safe, evidence-based practice

Qualifications

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) credential (required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience (required)
• Experience with mechanical ventilation and ABG analysis (required)
• Comfortable working night shift schedule and functioning independently in a fast-paced environment
• Trauma experience and prior Meditech EMR experience (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation management and troubleshooting
• ABG sampling and interpretation
• CPAP/BiPAP setup and titration
• Familiarity with ventilator models: Servo I, Hamilton, V60, Astral
• Airway management techniques and CPT
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Documentation proficiency in Meditech or similar EMRs
• Team collaboration and clear clinical communication
