Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Day shift, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM; rotating schedule that may include weekends and on-call responsibilities. On-call expectations (4-week period): 2 weeknight calls 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 2 weekend 24-hour calls, and 1 holiday 24-hour call if a holiday falls in the period.

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care as both scrub and circulator across multiple service lines
• Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after surgical procedures with strong clinical judgment
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure patient safety in the operating room
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the OR team to deliver seamless care
• Document patient care accurately and promptly in Meditech and other required systems
• Participate in call rotations and respond professionally to emergent surgical needs
• Support unit workflows, communicate clearly during handoffs, and contribute to a positive team environment

Qualifications

• Current RN license appropriate for practice in Florida
• ACLS and BLS required
• Minimum 2 years of current acute OR experience, with ortho, spine, and joint replacement experience required
• Experience with knee and hip replacements strongly preferred
• Ability to function as both scrub and circulator across service lines
• PALS and CNOR preferred; charge nurse experience a plus
• Strong assessment, documentation, and perioperative judgment

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing skills including scrub and circulator roles
• Experience with orthopedic, spine, and joint replacement procedures
• Patient assessment and critical thinking in the surgical setting
• Charting and documentation proficiency, specifically Meditech experience
• Familiarity with OR equipment and perioperative protocols
• Ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary surgical team
