Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality OB/GYN nursing care during 12-hour night shifts, prioritizing patient safety and comfort
• Monitor and assess maternal and fetal status, recognizing and escalating changes promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary teams to implement patient care plans
• Educate patients and families on procedures, postpartum care, and discharge instructions in a clear and compassionate way
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in the medical record
• Respond effectively to obstetric emergencies and support delivery and postpartum needs as required

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in the state of Texas (or compact license where applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience, with OB/GYN or maternal-child nursing preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Current immunizations and required facility health clearances

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in fetal monitoring and interpreting strip changes
• Experience in labor and delivery, triage, and postpartum care
• Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills in obstetric settings
• Comfortable with patient education, family-centered care, and multidisciplinary communication
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
