Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered OB/GYN nursing care across the continuum
• Monitor maternal and fetal status with skilled assessment and timely intervention
• Perform thorough clinical assessments, document clearly in the patient record, and communicate changes to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following established protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate excellent care
• Educate patients and families about labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn needs
• Respond promptly and effectively during obstetric emergencies and escalate as needed
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and safety

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligible for RN licensure in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of OB/GYN nursing experience as indicated in the job posting
• Current basic life support (BLS) certification; specialty certifications welcomed
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in obstetric settings
• Ability to complete standard travel assignment requirements such as background check and immunizations

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with labor and delivery and postpartum care
• Proficiency in fetal monitoring and maternal/fetal assessment
• Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency response
• Clear, compassionate patient and family education
• Accurate electronic medical record documentation and care coordination
• Effective teamwork, communication, and time management in a fast-paced unit
