Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care on a 36-bed Med-Surg/Telemetry unit
• Monitor telemetry and interpret EKGs as needed to keep patients safe
• Perform unit procedures including wound care, drain management and CBI
• Manage central line dressing changes and Foley insertions with sterile technique
• Administer medications and document care accurately in Meditech Expanse
• Lead bedside shift reports and perform hourly safety rounding to improve outcomes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teammates to coordinate discharge plans and follow-up
• Maintain patient ratios and prioritize care during surges while advocating for patient needs

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure (eligible to work in NH)
• Minimum 2 years Med-Surg nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and basic EKG interpretation
• Experience with wound care, drain management, and central line dressing changes
• Familiarity with Meditech Expanse or similar electronic documentation systems preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills on a Med-Surg/Telemetry unit
• Telemetry monitoring and EKG recognition
• Wound care techniques and drain (e.g., chest tube, JP) management
• Aseptic technique for central line dressing changes
• Foley insertion and urinary care
• Clear, timely clinical documentation in electronic health records
• Team communication, bedside shift reporting, and patient-centered rounding
• Ability to float to same level of care when needed
