Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for labor, delivery, postpartum, and special care nursery patients
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using GE fetal monitors and intervene appropriately
• Serve as OR circulator for C-sections and assist the surgical team when needed
• Perform newborn assessments and participate in neonatal resuscitation (NRP) when indicated
• Administer and manage medications and infusions (Alaris pumps) including Pitocin and MgSO4 per protocols
• Document care accurately in the EMR (GE Centricity/CPN and Meditech)
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, and multidisciplinary teams to support high-risk patients
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring colleagues and supporting teamwork

Qualifications

• Active RN license (able to practice in Texas or eligible for compact licensing as applicable)
• NRP, ACLS, and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor or Postpartum experience (within the last year) required
• Experience in LDRP, postpartum/mother-baby care, special care nursery or Level II NICU preferred
• C-section/OR circulator experience preferred
• STABLE certification and NICU/transition baby-catching experience are a plus
• Willingness to work rotating nights and weekends as scheduled

Knowledge & Skills

• Fetal monitoring and interpretation (GE fetal monitors)
• Labor management including induction, cervical ripening, and high-risk maternal care
• Newborn care including special care nursery / Level II NICU familiarity
• Proficiency with EMRs: GE Centricity/CPN and Meditech
• Skill as OR circulator for C-sections and intraoperative support
• Comfort with advanced equipment: Alaris pumps, Giraffe warmers, Monica wireless monitoring
• Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced unit
