Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for Emergency Department and inpatient hold patients, managing acuity and ratios safely
• Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize emergent needs with clinical confidence
• Administer medications and treatments according to policy and provider orders
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate admissions, transfers, and continuity of care
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
• Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and skills verification to ensure excellence
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families during stressful situations
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and hospital policies including respirator fit requirements

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state required for practice
• Current BLS, PALS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications
• Experience in Emergency Department nursing and inpatient hold management
• Night shift experience and ability to work 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM rotations
• Completion of Trinity specialty competency testing and Trinity skills checklist as required
• Required occupational health items: fit test, respirator evaluation, immunizations (Tdap, COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella), 2-step PPD or IGRA, physical/health statement, and drug screen
• License and certificate verification will be required prior to start

• Emergency Department nursing practices and inpatient hold workflows
• Patient acuity assessment and ED ratios management
• Triage principles, rapid assessment, and prioritization
• Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-paced environments
• Proficiency with medication administration and basic procedures
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Ability to maintain competencies through specialty testing and skills checklists
