Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care including rapid patient assessment and stabilization
• Perform and interpret EKGs and assist with cardiopulmonary care and resuscitation efforts
• Manage trauma and stroke patients using protocol-driven interventions
• Perform procedural skills such as ultrasound-guided IV insertion, intraosseous access, and laceration repair
• Administer and monitor medications and IV infusions using Alaris pumps and Pyxis systems
• Document care accurately in Sunrise/Allscripts EMR and follow unit protocols for orders and workups
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, ED techs, and specialty services to ensure seamless patient flow
• Provide compassionate psychiatric emergency care and safe management of behavioral health patients

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (RN title in job indicates RN requirement)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience (required for contract RNs)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required for contract labor (preferred for other hires)
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in high-acuity settings
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work rotating nights and every-other-weekend
• Comfortable using Sunrise/Allscripts EMR, Alaris pumps, Pyxis, and resuscitation devices

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency patient assessment and triage
• EKG interpretation and cardiopulmonary monitoring
• Trauma care, orthopedic trauma support, and stroke protocols
• Ultrasound-guided IV and intraosseous (IO) access
• Laceration repair and common ED procedures
• Familiarity with Lucas Device and Hotline Rapid Infuser
• Strong communication, teamwork, and medical terminology knowledge
• Ability to follow protocol-based orders and autonomously initiate initial workups
