Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage emergency patients rapidly and accurately to prioritize care
• Provide evidence-based, protocol-driven medication administration and initial treatments
• Perform advanced procedures such as IV/ultrasound-guided IV insertion and IO insertion when indicated
• Monitor and interpret EKGs and assist in cardiopulmonary and stroke care interventions
• Deliver trauma and psychiatric care with calm, decisive action during acute situations
• Document care thoroughly in the Sunrise/Allscripts EMR and communicate effectively with the care team
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient disposition and follow-up

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) title as listed for the role
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience for contract positions
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC required for contract labor (preferred for other hires)
• Demonstrated competency in IV insertion, including ultrasound-guided IVs, and basic procedural skills
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work nights and scheduled weekends

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing principles including trauma and stroke care
• ECG/EKG interpretation and cardiopulmonary monitoring
• IV/ultrasound IV insertion and familiarity with IO access
• Use of ED equipment such as Lucas device, rapid infusers, Alaris pumps and Pyxis
• Comfort with Sunrise/Allscripts EMR workflows and documentation
• Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to surges, and maintain patient-centered care
